This route is designed for two kinds of people: those who ski, and those who came along and only want snow and hot water. For eight days, neither has to compromise.

The skeleton

  • Days 1–2 — Land at New Chitose, private car to a small resort on the edge of Niseko (fewer people, same snow)
  • Days 3–5 — Mornings apart — ski or walk the snowfields; afternoons together in the bath; evenings around the hearth
  • Days 6–7 — East to a lakeside inn: the frozen lake, red-crowned cranes
  • Day 8 — Homeward, with one last seafood bowl at the airport

House rules of this journey

All gear rented and waiting in your room. Each day’s start time is decided by last night’s snow, not by the itinerary.

This is the skeleton of a journey that happened exactly once. Yours will begin from a blank page.
