Every good itinerary has a B-side

A rain plan is not a fallback. Sometimes it beats the original.

Every day we hand over comes in two versions: the A-side for fair weather, the B-side for rain.

Rain is a different invitation

A moss garden is greener in the rain; a museum, quieter; a tea room wrapped in rain-sound becomes another room entirely. The B-side is not second-best — it is the same city in another temperament. More than one traveller has told us afterwards that the rainy day was the one they remember.

A real rain plan is not a frantic morning search. It is another table already booked, another guide already standing by. When the rain comes, all you change is your shoes.
